Automation Flows in Coco AI

Automation flows are the perfect way to send contextual and personalized WhatsApp messages at every step of the customer journey. These flows run in the background, so you can maintain engagement on auto-pilot and recover more revenue. In this guide, we’ll walk through how to create an automation flow inside Coco AI.


Getting Started with Automation Flows

  1. In your Coco AI dashboard, select Flows from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click Create Flow in the top-right corner.
  3. Add a Configure Trigger value
  4. Name the flow. Choose a name that makes it easy to track performance later and add a description.
  5. Select the Metric to trigger the flow



Understanding Flow Properties

  • Define the Trigger: A trigger is the customer action that starts the flow (e.g., checkout started, order placed).
  • Add Trigger Filters: Define when a flow fires (e.g., only trigger Abandoned Cart if the cart value is above $50).
  • Add Profile Filters: Target specific audiences (e.g., only send if the customer has purchased at least twice before).


🧠 All filters are optional, but they help fine-tune your targeting for maximum ROI.



Customizing Your Flow

  1. Add Actions: Drag and drop actions such as:
    • Message (send a WhatsApp message)
    • Delay (wait a set time before next step)
    • Conditional Split (branch out different experiences for your customers based on key attributes or actions they've taken.)



  1. Select or Create a Message:
    • Select your language
    • Use dynamic variables like [[contact.name]] or [[cart.summary]] for personalization.
    • Add an abandoned cart recovery or post purchase tracking link if the flow is tied to “Checkout Started” or "Placed Order."



  1. Activate Your Flow:
    • Activate immediately: Starts right away. We'll send messages to customers
    • Edit the flow: Come back any time to make updates to your flow.
